Last updated 28 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OBIOMA GARMENT CARE & ALTERATIONS SERVICES handles personal data when you use the OBIOMA platform. It reflects how the platform actually works today.
Privacy questions and data rights requests: privacy@obiomaalterations.com.
1. Who we are (data controller)
OBIOMA GARMENT CARE & ALTERATIONS SERVICES of No. 43, BASHIRU STREET, OJODU BERGER, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA is the data controller for personal data processed through the OBIOMA platform.
2. How to contact us
Privacy and data protection: privacy@obiomaalterations.com. General support: support@obiomaalterations.com. Postal: No. 43, BASHIRU STREET, OJODU BERGER, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA.
3. Account information
We collect your name, email address, phone number where provided, account role (customer, tailor or administrator), verification status and authentication or security information required to keep your account secure.
4. Service and job information
We process the details of each service request and job: service type, garment description, notes, timing, pricing, job status history, ratings and reviews, support or job conversations, and the outcome of the job.
5. Garment photographs and transformation images
Photographs you upload before, during and after work — including reference and transformation images — are stored in private storage and are accessible only to you, the assigned Service Provider where relevant to the job, and authorised OBIOMA staff handling support, quality or dispute matters. Where these images contain personal data, they are handled under this Policy.
6. Measurement information
Where you use our measurement service, we process body measurements and related fitting notes as part of your digital measurement profile. Measurement data is personal data and is treated as confidential.
7. Location, address and GPS information
We process the required Meeting Point or service address you supply, related access instructions and, where you permit it, device location for Service Providers while they are online or on active jobs.
OBIOMA uses location information to facilitate service matching, distance calculations, dispatch, routing and fulfilment.
For privacy and security, OBIOMA may initially disclose only a general service area to a Service Provider, and disclose the exact address and contact information when it is operationally necessary and the applicable payment and assignment conditions are satisfied.
8. Payment and transaction information
Payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive and store transaction references, amounts, currency, payment status and related records. We do not store your full card details.
9. Service Provider verification information
For tailors and service providers we process profile and verification details such as identity and contact information, profile photographs, skills, approval and active status, verification status, certification status, live availability, current device location and performance records.
10. Purposes of processing
- Creating and securing accounts.
- Matching jobs to suitable, available Service Providers.
- Dispatch, routing, distance calculation and fulfilment.
- Processing payments, payouts and earnings records.
- Communication about jobs and support.
- Quality assurance, verification, fraud prevention and platform safety.
- Handling complaints, damage claims and disputes.
- Complying with legal obligations.
11. Lawful bases
In accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, we rely as applicable on: performance of a contract (delivering the services you request); legitimate interests (platform safety, fraud prevention, service improvement and dispute handling); consent (device location, optional marketing and non-essential cookies where required); and legal obligation (records, tax and lawful requests).
12. Location data in more detail
Device location for Service Providers is collected only while they are active on the platform and is used to support matching, dispatch and job progress. You can withdraw device location permission at any time in your browser or device settings; some features may then be limited.
13. Service Provider access to customer data
A Service Provider sees only what is needed at each stage: initially a general service area and job summary, then the exact Meeting Point or service address and customer phone number only after assignment and successful payment verification, where operationally necessary. After completion, cancellation or dispute closure, private contact and precise location access closes according to the Platform's workflow and is not permanently exposed.
14. Third-party processors and service providers
We use trusted providers to run the Platform: cloud hosting, database, authentication, private file storage and encrypted backup infrastructure; Paystack for payments; email delivery for account and transactional emails; Google Maps Platform for mapping and location features; and tawk.to for customer-support chat. They process relevant data for those stated purposes under their applicable terms and privacy obligations.
15. Google Maps Platform
OBIOMA uses Google Maps Platform services for mapping, address, place and location functionality, including map display, address lookup and distance/route calculation.
Your use of these features is subject to the Google Maps Platform Terms and the Google Privacy Policy. Google receives the information necessary to serve those requests, such as map and place queries and the coordinates or address text submitted for lookup, together with standard technical request data. We do not send Google your account credentials, payment details, measurements or garment photographs.
16. Payment providers
Payment card data is entered on Paystack's secure payment page and is processed by Paystack for payment purposes. We receive and store only the transaction outcome, reference, amount, currency and related payment records described above; we do not receive or store complete card credentials.
17. Customer-support chat
The tawk.to support widget may process messages you choose to send, together with technical and session information such as IP address, browser or device details and chat timestamps, to provide customer support. Do not send payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information in chat. See the tawk.to Privacy Policy.
18. Data security
We use access controls and row-level database security so records are visible only to authorised users, private storage buckets for photographs, voice notes and documents, encrypted connections, server-side verification of payments, and audit records of sensitive actions.
19. Data retention
We keep account and job records for as long as your account is active and afterwards for the period needed to meet legal, tax, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations. Media related to a job is retained while it may be needed for quality or dispute purposes, then deleted or anonymised.
20. Your rights
Subject to Nigerian data protection law you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion where applicable, restriction of or objection to certain processing, portability of data you provided, and withdrawal of consent. Email privacy@obiomaalterations.com and we will respond within the period required by law.
21. Marketing communications
Service and transactional messages are part of providing the service. Marketing messages are sent only where you have consented, and you can opt out at any time without affecting your use of the platform.
22. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, maintain your session and keep the Platform secure. The tawk.to support widget may also use cookies or similar technologies to operate chat and maintain a support session. Where consent is legally required for non-essential technologies, we request it through the available notice or controls. We do not sell personal data to advertisers.
23. Children's data
The platform is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. If a child's data has been provided to us, contact privacy@obiomaalterations.com and we will delete it.
24. International transfers
Some of our infrastructure, payment, mapping, support-chat, storage and backup providers operate outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we take appropriate steps consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, including contractual and organisational safeguards where applicable.
25. Referrals
When a customer joins using a Service Provider's referral code, we record which Service Provider referred them and the status of any related reward. We may compare contact details to detect referral abuse. Service Providers only see totals, never a referred customer's name or contact details.
26. Automated decision-making
Job matching uses automated logic based on service type, skills, availability and location, and pricing is calculated automatically from published rates. These processes do not produce legal effects concerning you, and you can contact support for a human review of any outcome.
27. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified through the platform or by email and the updated Policy will show a new effective date.
28. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, contact privacy@obiomaalterations.com. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
