OBIOMA Customer Terms & Conditions

Last updated 28 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the OBIOMA platform, website and mobile experience.

By creating an account or requesting a service, you agree to these Terms. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under Nigerian law.

1. OBIOMA's role as a technology-enabled marketplace

OBIOMA operates a technology-enabled marketplace that connects customers who need garment repairs, alterations, transformation or measurement services with independent, verified tailors and service providers ("Service Providers").

Service Providers are independent contractors and are not employees or agents of OBIOMA. OBIOMA is responsible for the operation of the Platform, for verifying Service Providers in accordance with our published verification process, for handling payments made through the Platform, and for operating the complaints, dispute and remediation processes described in these Terms and our related policies.

OBIOMA does not disclaim responsibility for Service Provider conduct on the Platform: where a Service Provider fails to meet the standards required by OBIOMA, we will investigate and may provide remedies including re-work, refunds, compensation or removal of the Service Provider from the Platform, as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Garment Damage, Loss & Dispute Policy.

2. Customer eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use the Platform. If you use the Platform on behalf of a business or another person, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

3. Customer accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity carried out through your account.

Tell us promptly at support@obiomaalterations.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Service requests

When you submit a service request, you provide details of the garment, the work required, photographs where relevant, your required Meeting Point and your preferred timing. A suitable verified Service Provider may then be matched to the request.

A request becomes a confirmed job when a Service Provider accepts it and the applicable payment has been successfully verified through the Platform.

The Service Provider may travel to your confirmed Meeting Point to meet you and/or provide the service. This may be your home, office, shop or another suitable location. Pickup and delivery may also be available for applicable services.

Service Providers may assess a garment on arrival. If the garment condition or work required differs materially from your original request, any revised or custom price must be presented through the Platform for your approval and payment before the additional work proceeds.

5. Pricing and fees

Pricing is calculated or disclosed through the Platform. Your total may include the service price, an OBIOMA service fee and, where applicable, express, distance-related or other disclosed charges. All applicable charges are shown to you before you pay.

Not every service can be finally priced before the garment is assessed. Where a revised or custom price is required, it follows the Platform's customer-approval and payment process before the related chargeable work proceeds.

Prices are in Nigerian Naira (NGN) unless stated otherwise.

6. Multiple garments and added garments

You may include more than one garment in a single order. Each garment keeps its own service, description and photographs, and the whole order is paid in one payment before a Service Provider is dispatched. Your location and Meeting Point are provided once for the order.

Where enabled, a multi-item saving may reduce the OBIOMA service fee when an order includes several garments. Any saving is calculated by the Platform and shown before you pay; it never reduces the Service Provider's earnings.

After a Service Provider has accepted a paid order, you may add further garments to it until the order closes. Garments added together are priced and paid as one separate add-on payment, at standard timing and with no distance fee. Your original payment is not changed. The Service Provider may accept or decline added garments and will only begin that work once the add-on payment has been verified.

An order closes when you have confirmed completion and the Service Provider has confirmed leaving your location. After that, further garments require a new order.

7. Payment

Payments are made through the Platform using our payment provider. Payment is confirmed only when our payment provider verifies it, and verified payment is required before the assigned Service Provider may proceed to dispatch or travel. OBIOMA does not store your full card details.

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

8. Service Provider matching

OBIOMA matches your request to available, verified Service Providers using factors such as service type, required skills, availability, location and performance history. We aim to match you promptly but cannot guarantee that a Service Provider will be available at any specific time.

9. Location and privacy

Your required Meeting Point is where the Service Provider should meet you and/or provide the service. You must provide an accurate location and useful description or access instructions.

To match and dispatch a Service Provider, OBIOMA processes your Meeting Point or service address and, where you allow it, device location. Before verified payment and assignment, a Service Provider may see only the general service area needed for matching. After verified payment and assignment, the assigned Service Provider may receive the exact Meeting Point or service address and your phone number only where operationally necessary. Access closes after completion, cancellation or dispute closure according to the Platform's workflow.

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Map, address and place functionality on the Platform is provided using Google Maps Platform. Google provides those mapping services under its own applicable terms and privacy policy; those terms do not determine your contract with OBIOMA. Google Maps Platform Terms and the Google Privacy Policy apply to Google's handling of those services.

10. Garment condition

You must disclose known defects, prior repairs, delicate fabrics, embellishments or sentimental value before work begins. Garments may carry inherent risks — for example fragile or aged fabric, existing weakness at seams, colour bleeding or shrinkage — that can become apparent during ordinary, careful work.

11. Alteration and repair results

Repairs and alterations are skilled manual work. Reasonable variation is normal and some repairs may remain visible depending on the fabric, damage and technique used. Where work falls below a reasonable professional standard, you are entitled to the remedies set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

12. Garment transformation

Transformation and custom work can involve irreversible cutting, reconstruction, dyeing or modification. Additional terms apply — see the Garment Transformation & Custom Work Terms.

13. Measurement services

Measurement services and digital measurement profiles are subject to the Measurement Service Terms & Disclaimer.

14. Pickup, delivery and logistics

Where a service involves collecting a garment or returning it to you, timings given on the Platform are estimates. You must be available, or make a responsible adult available, at the agreed location and time. Failed visits caused by your unavailability may attract a reasonable, disclosed fee.

15. Customer responsibilities

  • Provide accurate service details, Meeting Point or service address, contact information and useful access instructions.
  • Provide a safe, lawful and reasonably suitable space for work carried out at your location.
  • Empty pockets and remove valuables from garments before handover.
  • Treat Service Providers with respect and without harassment or discrimination.

16. Off-platform transactions

Jobs that originate on OBIOMA must be arranged and paid for through the Platform. Deliberately taking an OBIOMA-originated job off-platform removes your payment protection, dispute rights and verification safeguards. See the Platform Integrity & Off-Platform Policy.

17. Cancellation

You may cancel a job through the Platform. Whether a cancellation fee applies depends on how far the job has progressed, as set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Any fee will be reasonable, disclosed to you in advance and applied subject to Nigerian law.

18. Damage, loss and complaints

If a garment is damaged or lost, report it promptly through the Platform or to support@obiomaalterations.com. Claims are handled under the Garment Damage, Loss & Dispute Policy.

19. Customer reviews

Reviews must be honest, based on your own experience and free of unlawful, abusive or discriminatory content. We may remove reviews that breach these Terms, and we do not remove genuine negative reviews simply because a Service Provider objects.

20. Intellectual property

The Platform, its software, branding and content belong to OBIOMA or its licensors. You may use the Platform only for its intended purpose. You keep ownership of the photographs and content you upload. You grant OBIOMA only the limited licence reasonably needed to provide the requested service, operate and support the Platform, investigate service issues or disputes, maintain security and improve the services. This licence does not permit OBIOMA to sell your content, publish it for unrelated commercial use or use it to train artificial-intelligence models without a separate lawful basis and appropriate notice or permission.

21. Platform availability

We work to keep the Platform available, but access may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, third-party outages or events outside our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

22. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account where there is fraud, abuse, unlawful conduct, repeated off-platform circumvention or a material breach of these Terms. Where reasonable and lawful, we will tell you why and give you the opportunity to respond. You may close your account at any time; obligations relating to completed jobs remain.

23. Limitation of liability

Subject to applicable Nigerian law, OBIOMA is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss arising from your own breach of these Terms or from material garment information you failed to disclose, except to the extent the loss was caused by negligence, defective performance, misrepresentation or another matter for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, defective performance, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Our responsibility and available remedies for garment damage, loss or poor workmanship are addressed in the Garment Damage, Loss & Dispute Policy.

24. Customer indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify OBIOMA against losses, claims and reasonable costs arising from your fraud, your deliberate misuse of the Platform, or your material breach of these Terms. This does not apply to matters caused by OBIOMA or by a Service Provider acting within the scope of a job.

25. Complaints

Complaints can be raised in the app or by emailing support@obiomaalterations.com. We acknowledge complaints promptly, investigate fairly, and tell you the outcome and any remedy offered.

26. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with Lagos State as OBIOMA's primary operating jurisdiction. We will first try to resolve any dispute through our internal complaints process. If it cannot be resolved, the dispute may be referred to the competent courts of Lagos State, without affecting any statutory consumer redress mechanism available to you.

27. Referral rewards

Verified Service Providers may share a referral code. A referral is only valid for a genuinely new customer account with no previous orders, may not be self-referred, and stays with the first valid referrer. Referral rewards are paid to Service Providers, not customers, and only become eligible after the referred customer's first order has been paid, completed and confirmed without dispute. OBIOMA may review, withhold, cancel or reverse any reward in line with our Platform Integrity Policy.

28. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services or the law. Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email, and the updated Terms will show a new effective date.
